What is CalAPT
The California Association for Play Therapy, a non-profit organization, is a state branch of the Association for Play Therapy, chartered in 1993. Our members come from throughout the state and represent a variety of professions and disciplines, including counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, teachers, recreational therapists, nurses, and interns. We have received the Association for Play Therapy's highest award of "Gold Branch" for exhibiting superior performance.
Our Mission
The Mission of the California Association for Play Therapy (CALAPT) is to sustain a community of support for play therapists while promoting an understanding of play therapy and its effective practice through outreach, training and research, with special emphasis on diversity and the developmentally appropriate treatment of children’s mental health.
