Description: We will discuss play therapy activities and techniques for mental health professionals to look at and practice self-care. In addition, we will identify ways to support our play therapy clients and each other through play. The workshop will offer mental health professionals the opportunity to take their mask off. Where and with whom are you vulnerable? How does it look and feel to take off your mask? What is under your mask as a mental health professional, employee/er, parent, spouse, child, sibling, and friend? What are you masking?
Learning Outcomes
After the session participants will be able to:
- Identify their own selfcare hygiene using CBT techniques.
- Utilize play therapy techniques to show playful ways to love themselves and to be loved by others.
- Identify burnout, compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction as it relates to working with play therapy clients/families.
